Dan Ross, Pharm.D.
Dan Ross has been Vice-President, Chief Pharmacy Officer at City of Hope National Medical Center since July 2011. At City of Hope he provides vision and leadership for all pharmacy services, as well as for the Diagnostic Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Transfusion Medicine and Pathology Departments. He is responsible for over 500 FTEs and annual budgets that total approximately $150 million.
Prior to joining City of Hope he was a medication safety and regulatory compliance consultant and provided services to over 80 hospitals in 3 and a half years of consulting and also served as a consultant for the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP).
Prior to starting his consulting firm, Dan served as the Director of Pharmacy and Medication Safety at Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), a non-profit system with over 40 hospitals in California, Arizona and Nevada. In this role he had responsibility for developing and implementing system-wide initiatives to improve clinical quality and patient safety related to medication use.
Dan is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy and is on the advisory board of the UCSF Pharmacy Leadership Institute, the CSHP Editorial Advisory Board and the ISMP Medication Safety Alert Newsletter clinical advisory Board.
